Last week, Heartland Women’s Healthcare (of Advantia Health) patient Denarrika Fisher gave birth to a baby boy with an unforgettable birthday.

Denarius Bell was born on 12/12 at 12:12 am, during the last full moon of the decade.

Heartland doctor Stephanie Skelly delivered the baby along with Certified Nurse Midwife Maggie Petry.

Denarrika Fisher says she started having contractions at 8:30 pm. It was Denarrika’s mother who noticed the time. “She said ‘you’re going to have this baby at 12.’ I think that’s what made her check the clock,” Denarrika remembered.

Maggie Petry, the Certified Nurse Midwife at the delivery, says she and the other staff “never realized the date and time connection. We were so busy!”

Dr. Stephanie Skelly, who delivered the baby, said the birth was smooth – “you could say the stars were aligned.”

In a Good Morning America article last week, Denarrika said she plans to nickname Denarius “moon.” The baby is doing great, and she can’t wait to tell him this story when he’s older.

To top everything off, Denarrika was released from the HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital on her birthday. “This was my birthday gift,” she said.
