Dr. Schifano was born and raised in Chicago. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his masters degree from the Roosevelt University. After graduating from medical school in Des Moines, Iowa, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He served as Chief of Obstetrics at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia, where he also was a Clinical Instructor at the Medical College of Georgia. Major Schifano left the Army in July 2001 to start Heartland Women’s Healthcare in Marion, Illinois.
