Prenatal Care

Prenatal care is an essential part of a healthy pregnancy for both mother and baby. Your obstetrician will discuss many topics with you such as nutrition and physical activity, what to expect during the birthing process, and basic skills for caring for your newborn. It is necessary not to miss any of your prenatal checkups as they are each important.

Ask our team about prenatal classes at your delivery hospital.

Ultrasound At Every Visit

No need to wait for your 20-week ultrasound to see your baby – we offer a bedside ultrasound at every visit to provide expecting mothers peace of mind by seeing their baby often. A fetal ultrasound, or sonogram, is an imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of a baby in the uterus. Ultrasounds can help your doctor evaluate your baby’s growth and development as well as determine how your pregnancy is progressing.

Free 4D Ultrasound

At 32 weeks, expecting mothers may enjoy a live 4D ultrasound experience in one of our ultrasound theaters (offered at select offices based on availability). Friends and family are welcome to join when guests are allowed.

A special gift to all new expecting mothers – a flash drive bracelet containing a virtual world of your prenatal care information at your fingertips! The software includes patient initial, 20- and 32-week ultrasound images, 4D ultrasound video of your baby, and all password protected medical records pertaining to your pregnancy. Patients have found the bracelet to be a wonderful tool to share their pregnancy with loved ones and even with other medical providers while traveling.

Midwifery Care

We provide the option to choose midwifery services as practiced by Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs). Our staff of CNMs have undergone special training and are certified as experts in pregnancy and childbirth so they may support women and their families before, during, and after pregnancy. Heartland’s CNMs work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. If you elect to have midwifery care during pregnancy, you will benefit from this close relationship between your nurse-midwife and your physician.
