Samone Hale is a doctoral-prepared Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) and Registered Nurse (RN) with seven years of experience, demonstrating longevity in maternal-child care, patient safety, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Her nursing career began in the medical-surgical and telemetry units, where she developed a strong foundation in critical thinking, patient assessment, and complex care management. Samone’s journey in maternal-child health began as a labor and delivery nurse, where she developed a deep appreciation for the strength and vulnerability of the birthing experience.
At Baylor University, Samone was awarded the Outstanding Doctor of Nursing Practice Research Project Award by Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing for her research on preeclampsia prevention. Her roles as a mentor and preceptor for nursing students, new graduate nurses, and experienced nurses orienting to maternal-child health demonstrate Samone’s passion for improving perinatal outcomes through clinical leadership.
Ultimately, her goal is to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that every person, regardless of race, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or geography, has access to compassionate, high-quality maternity care. Samone’s professional philosophy is advocacy, equity, and holistic care for all women and birthing people across the lifespan.
Her clinical skills include culturally sensitive, comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care, including labor support and management, lactation and breastfeeding support, and newborn care. Samone’s inclusive care practices extend to gynecologic care, including well-woman preventive care, contraception counseling and management, menopause care, and problem visits.
Samone lives in Parkville, MD, with her husband and four-year-old daughter. She loves to sing, spend time with family and friends, cook, eat, play board games, and travel. Samone is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and enjoys serving her community.
Samone joins the Susquehanna OB/GYN & Nurse Midwifery team March 2.
